Exactly What Is the Problem???

As we entered the 1900s, public schooling in America had already taken giant steps from Colonial days.  Soon we were #1 in all the world.  But somewhere along the way, the slide began, and by the end of 2024, American eduvcation was in trouble like never before - slipping to #34 out of 80 developed nations.  If b y 2024 you were a rare K-12 teacher who felt your ability to help your students grow was improving, or an administrator or professor who felt an increasing ability to serve your constituents, consider yourself highly blessed ... because the rest of us felt the opposite, as we all were asked to do more and more with less and less. 

But then an election happened when our 45th president also became our 47th. It seems the four years in between were necessary for the average American voter to see how far down the government had sunk - along with people, institutions, and mainstream news outlets who were willingly complicit in hiding the negative effects of a wholly flawed set of personal and political values.

So now all across the political spectrum, changes are happening quite rapidly as common sense measures keep replacing "pie in the sky" goals that were hastening our country's decline.  In like manner, very soon expect the people who have been derailing instead of advancing education to be replaced with administrators and state and national educational leaders who focus on supporting you and all your kids to have the best classrooms possible.   Also expect that teacher unions will have to change their philosophies if they expect to remain viable. 

What can you do now?  Get ready for change where the incompetent people, flawed policies, and poor ideologies damaging classrooms for so long will no longer be tolerated.  Be strong in your faith and don't be silent about your values that have stood the test of time ... and instead of following the remaining lemmings to the cliff's edge, deliver creative and dynamic teaching that instead inspires all your students regardless of background.
